Why is my floor bouncy? Why is the floor creaking? Sounds like you have a delamination problem. If you notice that your caravan floor feels spongy or springy, usually in the entrance or kitchen area, it is likely that the bonded floor has delaminated.
Caravan floors are generally made up of different layers: a bottom layer of plywood, a middle layer of insulation and a top layer of plywood. Delamination is when the glue that bonds these layers together starts to wear and in turn the insulation layer begins to break down. If left untreated it will continue to breakdown and spread and eventually the floor will not take the weight and can cause loss to the structural integrity of the vehicle.
